Being born in 1987 - the asian zodiac calender generally agrees that this is the year of the rabbit (except in vietnam where there are no rabbits - so over there its the year of the cat...a formidable substitute i'd say) - which we are in right now again! 12 year cycle - do the math! 1987 to 1999 to? thats right 2011 we're in the rabbit year!
That being established since being intruduced to this astrological sign by my good friend Sakura
and being nicknamed - "the rabbit" i developed a sort of...erm obsession with rabbits and their affiliates.
This is the more random bit here - A hare or more commonly referred to as the jackrabbit is not the same as a rabbit - for one they're larger - not docile and actually make baby rabbits or "kits" that already have their eyes opened along with a full body of fur - as opposed to rabbits whose babies are hairless and cant see for awhile after birth.

and on researching it, at first it was thought that around this time of year the jackrabbits go crazy - when in actuality its their mating season - and they were seen as fighting each other "boxing" in the fields and randomly giving chase. Scientists discovered this to be untrue - in actuality, the female jack rabbits boxed off male jackrabbits that were unsuitable mates and appeared to be fighting.
So my trend of thought continues a march hare - is crazy and jackrabbits cant be tamed - what if we put one in a straitjacket eh? - u'll have a straitjacketed jackrabbit - and ultimately the straitjackrabbit was born - the concept is as much as controlling something crazy in a manner which would allow it to still be energetic and focused but maintain the same level of crazy thought patterns...
In essence - I am the straitjackrabbit - it is my persona - I have all these crazy thoughts that seem unable to be tamed and channeled - but in learning to control and "straitjack" my creativity I've stumbled upon this new expressive disciplined creative energy that manifests as the character I developed and so I refer to myself as that now and again and I don't think that's strange at all,
